The Happiest 5K on the Planet: The Swisse Color Run Australia 2013 (Sydney)

Yesterday, I was a participant in The Swisse Color Run for Sydney. I've never been to a fun run before, but I was so happy I joined! The Swisse Color Run is a unique charity event and the point is to get pretty damned dirty with colour.
My friends Betty, Reeni and I as part of the team "Colour Me Badd" ran through four colour stations: Blue, Pink, Orange and Yellow. It was so much fun! As we ran, volunteers threw the corresponding chalk at us and sprayed us with water colour. I even spread myself in orange chalk and attempted a chalk angel. I was covered in chalk by the end of the 5 kilometre fun run.
At the finish line, there was a huge area where (in stages) 20,000 participants huddled together to throw chalk packets in the air. It was an amazing sight to see the chalk get thrown to create a rainbow cloud. The music that I can associate the whole event with is 'Punching in a Dream' by The Naked and Famous. I danced and ran through chalk and it was all smiles everywhere. Never thought I would enjoy myself as much as I did. Best, day, ever!
