I've been repeating a motto in my head these past few days. 'Don't Chase People'. It's fuelled by my re-ignited passion for the movie 'Into The Wild', music by Eddie Vedder and this quote by Will Smith:
Although I can never be as extreme as Christopher McCandless in his travels, I have been motivated to do things and to not choose to do nothing. My friend recently decided to train for Tough Mudder (a British Corps designed 20km obstacle course) and I decided to exercise along side with him. To be more active I've pledged to attend gym 3-4 times a week focusing on weight training and high cardio. I'm taking up running afterwards up to three times a week. I'm planning kayaking, pool swimming and more beach.
I won't actually be attending Tough Mudder, because the obstacles includes my worse fears (like heights, deep swimming, fire and electrocution). But I am training like I'm going to do it, and what better way to represent my new training regime than to wear a tough army camouflage jacket?
